Club Activities

Cyber       Computers today form an integral part of our lives.  There’s very little that we can do without computers.  Computers and computer chips are today embedded in just about everything that we use, from cars to washing machines, to watches and alarm clocks.  The cyber club aims to increase students’ awareness of computers and their uses in our daily life, with a view to prepare citizens of tomorrow who are better suited to deal with information technology.

In the modern world the cyber world is full of vices starting from online fraud cases to what not. Piracy of songs and movies has become big business. Hardware is sold more in the grey market than in the legal form. Software is patched even before their release. E-mail accounts are being hacked without the slightest knowledge of the owner. Credit cards are becoming night mares for many.

The Cyber Club boys have taken a pledge to stop all these by first of all themselves not getting involved in these practices. They will also convince others of not doing any illegal practices. “Be Genuine” that’s our way.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         In Charge: Mr. Govindaraja Kariyappa

Kalpower

“To encourage and assist young minds to travel, explore, and extend knowledge of the terrain, adjoining hill ranges Through science, art, literature and sport”

On 22 day of November, being the Wednesday and ‘Club day’ we the members of Kalpower Club assembled in- front of Multi-Purpose Hall at 3.15pm. Our instructors Mr. Raghavendra Raje Urs B, Mr. Y Venkataramana, Mrs. Jhansi Rani and Mr. Manjappa G K were there on the spot to welcome us for one more tough day, where we can enjoy getting tired, walking long distance amidst nature. Mr. Manjappa GK, the in-charge teacher of the day’s programme briefed us about what we are going to do on the trek.

The destination was Harangi river bed, just 800 meters away from our school campus. On our way to the bank of the river, we were taught how to identify the plants, shrubs and even uses of bamboo shoots. We observed various types of crabs, fish and tadpoles. River crossing technique was taught to us in an interaction mode. We bowed down our heads to the natural beauty of the river flowing over metamorphic rocks.

Our teachers were there with us to touch natural streamlets, feel it and appreciate it. Some of my friends did not hesitate to get wet in the shallow waters as it gave them a different experience.  I didn’t know that such a wonderful natural sight is there next to our school campus.

Our trek on the river bank lasted for 2 hours and all of us returned to the school’s old security gate for headcount, de-briefing was done and we were ready to share our experiences to other cadets who were not lucky enough to join our Kal-power Club. The snaps what we took will always cherish my memories of the trek. Thanks to the school authorities, teachers for standing with us, supporting and extending all possible help to explore our natural surroundings in a natural way                                                                                        -Cdt Sachin S S.
