Wetland sports has a very long history in Kodagu District and Malenadu Region of Karnataka.Initially,it was started to celebrate good rains which used to bring happiness among the paddy field workers who used to work tirelessly in rainy season for paddy transplantation, but nowadays it has become one of the popular sports just like Hockey in the Malenadu Region.
Wetland sports competition was held at S M S Vidyapeet Arameri.Virajpet on 25 July 2017. Students from all the seven Schools of Brahmagiri Sahodaya Cluster participated in the event. The competition was held in various categories such as Wetland Running Race (100m), Wetland Relay (4×100m), Wetland Football and Throw Ball.
A contingent of 20 cadets including 3 girl cadets represented Sainik School Kodagu. The team was escorted by Ms Pratibha Kalyani and Mr. Dada D Kusanale. It was the test of agility and stamina of our cadets in mud and rain. Cdt Sheelsen (Roll no: 543) from Cariappa House won second prize in 100 metre Mud Race.
