School Competition

On 20th August 2025, the District Health & Family Welfare Department, Madikeri, organized a District Level Quiz Competition on HIV/AIDS Awareness for high school students. The event was aimed at spreading knowledge and sensitizing young minds about general health, personal hygiene, the National Health Mission, government health schemes, significant national health days, and awareness about HIV/AIDS. Cadet Shriyash Ghadage (Roll No. 1426) and Cadet Pranav Rao (Roll No. 1402) of Class X represented Sainik School Kodagu, who showcased outstanding brilliance in the competition. With their sharp presence of mind, excellent recall ability, and remarkable teamwork, they sailed through the thought-provoking rounds with confidence and determination. Competing against teams from several reputed schools across Kodagu District, our cadets displayed exemplary performance and emerged Champions, securing the First Position. Along with this remarkable achievement, they were awarded a cash prize of ₹6000 and, more importantly, earned the prestigious opportunity to represent Kodagu District at the upcoming State Level Quiz Competition. This proud achievement not only highlights the talent and hard work of our cadets but also reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing awareness and responsibility among students in vital areas of health and social welfare.

Objectives:

1. To encourage students to enhance their knowledge and critical thinking skills.
2. To promote healthy competition and teamwork among students.
3. To provide a platform for showcasing intellectual abilities and quick decision-making.

Participants:

The competition saw participation from 18 reputed schools across the district. Participant Cadets from Sainik School Kodagu is as follows.
1.Cdt Shivkant Yadav (Roll No:1300) - Class X-A
2.Cdt Omkar Pammar (Roll No:1576) – Class X-B
3.Cdt Atul Kumar (Roll No:1420) - Class IX-A
4.Cdt Hrushikesh Rugi (Roll No:1396) - Class IX-C

 Summary:

1.The event began with a preliminary written test, where Sainik School Kodagu emerged as the highest scorer, securing a spot among the top five teams.
2.The final competition included nine rounds namely General Knowledge, India and the World, Audio, Visual, Kannada Literature, Science Experiment Demonstration, Mathematics, Rapid Fire and Sports
3.Sainik School Kodagu's cadets showcased exceptional knowledge, teamwork, and composure, scoring 142 points, the highest among all participating schools.
4.Their stellar performance earned them First place and a cash reward of Rs. 5,000, bringing great pride to the school.

Conclusion:
1.The outstanding achievement of Sainik School Kodagu cadets reflects their dedication and preparation.
2.The event provided an excellent platform for students to enhance their skills and gain exposure.
