EDUCATIONAL AND MOTIVATIONAL TRIP TO AFS, YELAHANKA, BENGALURU

Report in Brief. 109 members from Sainik School Kodagu containing cadets of class X, Class teachers, a Lab assistant and two General employees had an educational and motivational trip to AFS, Bangalore in the morning, 26 Aug 2022. We have visited various locations in AFS, Bangalore where in Air force training activities are conducted. F/o Suraj from AFS Bangalore allotted Sargeant Abhay to take us around the station to give an exposure to Met office, ATC, Met museum, Run way, Hangers, Helicopters, VIP – transit Air crafts, Convertible Cargo Aircrafts. The whole team was divided into sub teams for easy movement and better understandings of the knowledge imparted. Our cadets got a life time opportunity to sit in helicopters, touch the gears, press the bomber buttons, to pull the lifting levers and other panel board equipments in the helicopter and aircrafts. There was an interaction with young officers of Air force where in our cadets raised their doubts and got it clarified. Tea, snacks, breakfast and lunch facility was arranged by the station at discounted price by the Airmen mess and SNCO’s Mess.
In the afternoon, at around 3.40 pm we reached VITM at Kasturba Road and got an exposure to different models of various science branches including engineering equipments. These working models kindled the flame of science concepts in the mind of our cadets. We had our dinner on the way in a hotel and reached Sainik School Kodagu at 0300 am on 27 Aug 2022.
Next day, cadets were asked to submit their tour report to the class teachers by 0800 pm ie, 26 Aug 2022. Collected tour reports were reviewed by the respective class teachers and a compiled report is put up.
