Sainik School Kodagu organized a Book Fair from 20 Dec to 22 Dec 2018 in co-ordination with Scholastic Publishing Company, Bangalore. The company displayed more than 3000 titles from all walks of life and some of the popular books of present genre. The books displayed attracted all the cadets. Being a second saturday and ‘parent’s visit day’, a large number of parents also paid their visit to the fair and purchased some of the books for their wards. The fair was inaugurated by Gp Capt RR Lall, the Principal, Sainik School Kodagu who appreciated the collection from different genres. The fair witnessed the billing amount to INR 63000, which is a record in its own category in the campus. It’s proved that reading still remains the most popular hobby.

Indian Navy Day Celebrations - 2018

47th Indian Navy day was celebrated with festive fervour on 04 December 2018 at Sainik School Kodagu. The programme commenced with a speech on significance of the day highlighting the might of Indian Navy and its vital roles in maintaining maritime security to the nation. Cadets of Cariappa House sang a patriotic song on Indian Navy followed by a skit named ‘’Master strategist’’ in which the valour and the war tactics of Vice Admiral Nilakant Krishnan were portrayed. The skit also highlighted his immaculate decision making ability and leadership qualities in deceiving Pakistani Navy in the 1971 war. The Cadets were also encouraged to read the Autobiography of Vice Admiral Nilankant Krishnan titled ‘’A Sailor’s story’’. The programme concluded commemorating all the Indian navy personnel for their selfless service and supreme sacrifice to the nation.

The said championship was conducted by Sainik School Kodagu from 14 to 17 Aug 18. The following Sainik Schools participated in the Championship:-

The entire championship was organized in a congenial environment which provided wholesome learning experience for the cadets. All the teams exhibited absolute discipline, sportsman ship, camaraderie and entertained the spectators with their sporting skills.
The championship was inaugurated on 14 Aug 18 followed by conduct of matches on league basis. The closing ceremony was organized on 17 Aug 18.

Cadet Rahul Kumar of Sainik School Goalpara was adjudged as the best volleyball player of the championship.
The outstation teams expressed their utmost satisfaction on the conduct of the Championship, boarding, lodging facilities and enjoyed their stay at this school.
