TEACHERS’ CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME CONDUCTED BY CBSE

CBSE17th Feb ’18 became a remarkable day for Sainik School Kodagu as it became the venue for the conduct of Capacity Building Programme for the first time since the inception of the school. It was a day’s programme conducted by Centre of Excellence, CBSE, Kakinada. 45 teachers participated in the workshop among them 20 teachers were of Jnanaganga Residential  School.

The Capacity Building Programme was on Remodelled Structure of Assessment introduced by CBSE this year. Mr Manoj Kumar Tiwari was the Resource person of this programme. Mr Manoj is the Principal of Maharshi Centre of Excellence, Bangalore. The Venue Director Sqn Ldr D Mathew, Officiating Principal delivered an opening address and welcomed the resource person.

The programme started with the invocation of God. The teachers of Jnanaganga Residential School presented a prayer song. The training was divided into two sessions .The first was an introductory session for all and the next session was subject based. It was followed by a group wise presentation and discussion by the teachers. All teachers participated enthusiastically.The training was enlightening and fruitful.

LBA meeting

LBA3“Sainik School Kodagu, being one of the youngest among all Sainik Schools, has not left any stone unturned to ensure all round development of cadets.” In this way Air Vice Marshal NS Vaidya, VSM, Chairman, Local Board of Administration, Sainik School Kodagu applauded the training programme of the school and appreciated for sending as many cadets as possible to the premier institutes like NDA and INA. Air Vice Marshal NS Vaidya was received with a cavalcade followed by a guard of honour. A special assembly was also organised in  honour of the chief guest. He  addressed the school in the assembly and motivated cadets to participate in all activities which paves way for all round development of personality. On the occasion Gp Capt BKE Jacob, VSM, Gp Capt RR Lall, Principal, Sqdn Ldr D Mathew, Vice Principal, Members of academic and administrative Staff were present.

The chief guest felicitated Cadet Sujeet S Biradar for winning the maiden rolling trophy in the Field Marshal KM Cariappa Memorial Essay Writing Competition which was conducted by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Kodagu Vidyalay, Madikeri to commemorate the Field Marshal’s birth anniversary.

Air Vice Marshal NS Vaidya interacted with the cadets of class XI in the Motivational Hall and expressed the urge for well equipped and immaculately intelligent officers in the Indian armed forces. He also encouraged the cadets to put up their best in order to crack the UPSC and SSB interview. He applauded the efforts being put in order to impart training in all spheres which is bearing fruits in the form of bright and satisfactory results in the UPSC and SSB interview. He wished all success to the cadets in their future endeavours.

Annual day celebration

DSC02691On 26 Jan 2018, all cadets, parents, staff and families celebrated the Annual Day function with zest and zeal. Prof Mahesh Chandra Guru an eminent professor in Mass Communication & Journalism at Mysore University was the Chief Guest.  He was greatly impressed by the impeccable performance showcased by the cadets. The event started off with the welcome dance by the girl cadets of the school. The theme of the Annual day was ‘My Country’ as it was 26 January. Heart touching scenes of dance, drama mesmerising western dance by class XI humorous mime, dance show by dance club of the school and musical concert by music club members stole the hearts of the audience.

The Principal presented the Annual Report of the year 2016-17 to apprise the parents about the activities. The Chief Guest in his address said that the cadets of the school are chosen lots who got a chance to study here to protect the nation and to join armed forces whose untiring and relentless efforts protect the nation. Prize distribution ceremony was conducted to honour the cadets who topped in academics sports, cultural and discharged their duties as appointments.

The parents also acknowledged the efforts of students and staff to have put in their effort in making event a successful one.
