On 9 Dec 17, 10 Cadets of Sainik School Kodagu have participated in  School Chess Competition under the aegis of the Mysore District Chess Association (R)   conducted by The Hindu  and cdt Channana Gowda of Roll No 516 under 15 category, Cdt Basavaraj of Roll No 680 under 13 category secured 4^th place out of 220 participants.

On 28 Nov 17 , 4 Cdts. of Sainik School Kodagu i.e.,Roll No. 508, Cdt Mahesh N B, Roll No.603 Cdt Akshay HG, Roll No. 905 Cdt Moniraj B, Roll No. 680 Cdt Basavaraj have participated in district level quiz competition conducted by Sri Rama Trust English Medium School at Sri Rama Trust English Medium School, Napoklu and secured 4^th place out of 23 schools. And also received  ₹ 2000/-  as consolation prize

Brahmagiri Sahodaya Athletic meet was held on 25^th November 2017 at Bharatiya Vidyabhavan Kodagu Vidyalaya, Madikeri. Sainik School Kodagu participated in various events and won laurels to the institution. Cadet Kiran and Cadet Karan sprint champions of Sainik School Kodagu have been selected as the best athletes of the meet. The relay team of the school proved unbeaten in the track by winning the competition. Cadet Hariprasad won the first position in shot-put. The meet helped to foster greater competition among the budding sports stars of the school.

26 cadets of our school took part in the dance performance on the theme ‘Say No to Drugs’ at Amphi Theatre, Mysore on 14 Sep 2017. This was an opportunity to participate in the screening for Yuva Dasara Meet being attended by lakhs of people on the eve of Dasara Festival, a Cultural and Religious environment made by the Royal Family of Mysore Wodeyars.

By the time we reached the arena, the stage was ready with thousands of people down the stage to witness the cultural extravaganza. For the first time in our life, we had performed in-front of such a big crowd and the everlasting experience cannot be explained in words. The programme began at 19:00 Hrs and our turn came at 21:30, we were called on the stage, true to Kodagian spirit we danced forgetting the whole world with a thought that ‘now or never’. Our dance was a ‘fusion’ one with four songs mixed with the theme. Our presentation was in and around the theme without diverting from it.

Overall, the experience was enthralling and joyous, where we could come on the stage in front of Mysorians with our presentation. Thanks to the District Administration, Mysore and Kodagu, school authorities for providing us an opportunity to participate in such a wonderful and historic cultural meet.
