The Inter House Athletic Meet for the academic year 2023-24 was held on 17 and 18 November at Sports High School Kudige. Air Cmde N K Saidha, Deputy Commandant, Command Hospital, Bengaluru, was the chief guest of the opening ceremony. The Principal of the school Colonel Amar Jeet Singh, the Administrative Officer, Wing Commander P Prakash Rao and the Vice Principal, Squadron Leader Manpreet Singh graced the inaugural ceremony with their presence.

The cadets of Sainik School under the leadership of the Sports Captain Darshan put forward an elegant and majestic march past heralding their house flags. The troupe marched along to the tune of the school band that performed beautifully. The cadets then took part in the torch relay that symbolised the passing of the sacred flame from one torch to the next. The sports captain then administered the oath to the cadets pledging to uphold the integrity, fair play and spirit of the game. The chief guest of the event Air Cmde N K Saidha declared the athletic meet open by releasing pigeons.

The Inter House Annual Athletic Meet comprised of various track and field events that happened over a period of two days. The main track events of the athletic meet were 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m 1600m, 3000m, 4 x 100m relay and 110m hurdles. The field events were long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put and discus throw. The events happened in the Junior and Senior categories. Girl cadets participated separately representing their houses. Subroto House, the house which is named after Air Marshal Subroto Mukherjee, bagged the first position in the Athletic Meet with a total of 99 points owing to the commendable performance, vigour and strength of the cadets.
Cariappa House bagged the second position while Katari House came third followed by Menon House in the fourth position. Along with the overall championship cup, trophies, medals and certificates were given away to the best athletes too. Cadet Chetan of Subroto House became the best athlete in the senior category while Cadet Yash Pratap of Katari House became the best athlete in the junior category. Cadet Deepthi Devi of Subroto House was proclaimed as the best athlete in the girls’ category. Apart from the track and field events for cadets separate events were organised for the staff, their children and for General Employees. A tug of war took place between the staff and the cadets in which the staff was declared the winners.

The Inter House Athletic Meet came to an end on 18 November. Cmde M T Ramesh (Retd) was the chief guest of the closing ceremony of the athletic meet. Medals and certificates were awarded to the winners. The Principal of the school Colonel Amar Jeet Singh, the Administrative Officer, Wing Commander P Prakash Rao and the Vice Principal, Squadron Leader Manpreet Singh were also present for the event.
